Makeup Artist

As a Makeup Artist, you would use brushes, colours and techniques to transform people’s faces for everyday wear, special occasions or performances. You would most likely work in a salon, but could also work backstage in theatre or on TV and film sets. You would talk with clients about the look they want, choose products to suit their skin, and apply makeup with skill and care. You would need to be artistic, patient and able to work well under pressure – especially when time is tight!

Nail Technician

As a Nail Technician, you would shape, polish and decorate nails to create stylish looks for your clients. You could offer manicures and pedicures, paint bold designs, or apply extensions using gels or acrylics. You would talk with clients about what style they want, help them relax and keep your tools and work area super clean. You would need to be creative, steady-handed and enjoy chatting with people while you work.

Beauty Therapist

As a Beauty Therapist, you would help people feel confident and relaxed by offering a range of beauty treatments. These could include facials, waxing, massages or eyebrow shaping. You would listen to what your client wants, help them choose the right treatment and make sure they feel welcome and comfortable. Your work might take you to a salon, a spa or even onto a cruise ship. You would need to be calm, friendly, and good at working with your hands — with a strong focus on hygiene and customer care.

Complementary Therapist

As a Complementary Therapist, you would use natural techniques like massage, aromatherapy or reflexology to help people relax and feel better. Some clients might come to you with stress, aches or trouble sleeping. You would talk to them about their needs, choose the right treatment, and work in a calm and soothing environment. You would need to be gentle, caring and interested in how the body and mind work together.

Hairdresser

As a Hairdresser, you would transform people’s hair to help them feel their best. You might cut, colour or style hair, talk to clients about what they want, and recommend products to help them look after it at home. You could also style hair for special events like weddings. You would usually work in a salon, but some hairdressers visit homes or work in TV and fashion. You would need to be creative, good with people, and enjoy working on your feet.
