How can employer encounters make a difference?
Research tells us that these opportunities to spend time with employers helps young people better see the connection between what they are learning and their future.
It’s been shown to improve attendance, attainment and increase aspiration. It’s also suggested that young people will be 86% less likely to become NEET (not in education, employment or training) and these experiences can boost their income by up to 18% more than peers who didn’t have similar opportunities.
From an economic perspective, there are some brilliant benefits for your business as well as the wider economy:
- Better prepared workforce will help increase productivity
- Talent pipeline representative of our communities
- Staff volunteering have reported these activities are beneficial for their own personal and professional development
- Aligns well with CSR strategies
- More inclusive economy with improved social mobility
