Senior Project Officer

I joined the See it Be it Team at the beginning of 2023, after working in a number of education settings, most recently as a Careers Leader.

As well as supporting employers to engage in careers education, I am project lead on the BiG Challenge and BiG Community Challenge.

I studied chemistry at University and worked in the pharmaceutical industry after graduating.

I did my work experience at a veterinary surgery and my first job was as a Sandwich Artist in Subway. Yes, that was really my job title!

Pathways & Progressions Manager

As Pathways & Progressions Manager in the Lifelong Learning and Skills Service I manage our brilliant See It Be It Team and also work with partners to make sure that young people make a successful journey from education to employment. This is the best job I have ever had and I get to work and meet with some incredible young people, colleagues, teachers, employers, parents/carers along the way.

I did my work experience at the  Worksop Guardian as I really wanted my future to be in journalism but volunteering to support young people in custody opened my eyes to other career options

I lead on developing 14-24 education, employment and training opportunities with a range of educationalists and partners for our vulnerable young people in Sheffield to raise participation, increase their entry level learning provision and seek out sector based supported entry level employment opportunities.  Previously, I was the vocational lead at Sheaf Training Specialist College which assists young people with Education Health Care Plans to prepare for transitions to adulthood.

My initial work experience was mucking out 22 stables each morning, and teaching customers to ride, then as a Visitor Guide at Newby Hall & Gardens.

My favourite paid job ever was driving the sports speed rescue boat at Rother Valley Country Park providing water sports coaching and rescue for customers.

Careers Consultant

I am employed part-time within the SIBI team and the Careers and Enterprise Company as a Careers Consultant, aiming to support career leaders in schools and bridge the gap between educational institutions and businesses. With a 12-year background in education and careers, I take pleasure in collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance and sustain effective Career Education for our youth.

A key aspect of my job is to forge new partnerships for schools, broadening the experiences and ambitions of students. This effort is flourishing thanks to the proven See it Be it model.

Since the age of 13, when I started with a paper route, I have been consistently employed. Between attending University and traveling, I have worked at a local supermarket in Sheffield, served as a Lifeguard at Ponds Forge, and held customer service positions at the Leadmill and The Harley Bar in the city centre.
