Sales Rep

As a Sales Rep, you would travel to bookshops, libraries and schools to help them choose which books to sell or stock. You would talk to them about what’s new, what’s popular, and what might work well for their readers. You would also keep track of orders and help the publisher understand what’s selling well. You would need to be friendly, confident, and passionate about books – and enjoy being on the move, talking to lots of different people every day.

Bookseller

As a Bookseller, you would help people discover books they love. You would organise shelves, recommend books to customers, and make sure the shop looks welcoming and well-stocked. You might help people find the perfect gift, order special books, or set up displays around a theme. You would also use a till to take payments and keep track of stock. You would need to enjoy reading, be friendly and helpful, and have a good memory to remember lots of different titles and authors.

Events Coordinator

As an Events Coordinator, you would plan and run events that bring books to life – from author talks to book launches and reading groups. You would help choose what events to put on, invite guests, promote the event and make sure everything runs smoothly on the day. You would also help make the shop a fun and welcoming place for readers of all ages. You would need to be organised, good at working with people, and enjoy sharing your passion for books.

Publisher

As a Publisher, you would help turn someone’s writing into a real book. You would read and select manuscripts, work with authors to edit their stories, and decide how the book should look and feel. You would also plan how to print, price and promote the book so that it reaches the right readers. Whether it’s fiction, poetry or non-fiction, you would help great writing find its way into the world. You would need to love reading, have a sharp eye for detail and be great at working with creative people.

Fun fact: We are named after both the Roman Queen of the Gods and also one of the owners sadly departed guinea pig.
