BiG Community Challenge
Sheffield's city-wide social action challenge
The BiG Community Challenge aims to ignite social and entrepreneurial spirit through city wide social action activity. An initial investment of £25 to support BiG idea development around issues which are important to young people and their communities. Skills development through social action and innovation!
Just like The BiG Challenge, this challenge is linked to the Skills Builder framework for essential skills and has employer engagement embedded throughout, with teams being paired with an adviser from a local business or community organisation.
The challenge ends with a celebration event for all those involved, and an opportunity for participants to share their stories and impact with others.

When does it take place?
January 2026 - July 2026
Year groups eligible / suitable:
All year groups, and youth settings including youth clubs and community groups.
Is there a cost involved?
No cost to take part.

Additional offer for PoP schools:
In addition to the standard offer, we will (as asked):
- Do a launch of the challenge to staff to raise awareness
- Do a launch to students in school
- Provide more employer mentors to support teams
- Provide printed resources
