Employer led programme in Engineering, Health and Construction 

Better Learners, Better Workers is an employer led programme headed up by The Cutlers’ Company, prestigious leaders of engineering and manufacturing in South Yorkshire, who work in partnership with Sheffield City Council and employers to deliver a high quality multi-sector employability programme.

Learners are taken on an employability journey supported by employers to develop their skills and understanding for the world of work. This includes 3 employer encounters in school and 3 at an employer, plus 3 Skills Matter days where students from all schools come together for a a full day of skills development.

The programme culminates in a Graduation Ceremony at The Cutlers' Hall.

When does it take place?

The programme runs for one academic year. Recruiting until first week in October and the programme runs until July with the Graduation Ceremony taking place in the second week in July.

 

Year groups eligible / suitable:

Year 9 and SEND

 

Is there a cost involved?

Yes.  There is a cost of £350 per student, but Sheffield City Council are funding match funding 28 places for PoP schools.
